Nora Mangiamele is a Yoga Alliance Certified yoga instructor. She received her certification through Yoga Works, with Annie Carpenter and Lisa Walford. She teaches beginner to advanced vinyasa flow classes and also teaches Yin yoga. Her love and passion for the art of yoga shines through in every class she teaches. Her humor and eclectic music encourage every student to strive further than they ever thought possible. Nora's classes are truly an experience that will leave you confident, humbled and inspired to live your life marching to your own rhythm.
Growing up in Omaha Nebraska, Nora's yoga practice started with a book at age 8. After majoring in music in college, playing flute and singing, Nora started performing in clubs and playing in Orchestras. Doing the LA scene for 10 years, hanging with the cool crowd was getting old. Yoga kept creeping back into her life. She started going to regular yoga with Gobind, practicing Kundalini yoga. An amazing inner practice, that was very musical with the chanting and also with the Kundalini rising. After years of Kundalini, Ashtanga and Vinyasa flow yoga became her main influence. Ashtanga in the morning, vinyasa flow in the evening. Her main influence was a vinyasa flow teacher, Janet Schriever.
Janet showed Nora the beauty of creativity with relentless vinyasa. She was completely hooked to this style of flow that was extremely challenging and at the same time very musical. Nora realized the importance of music with the practice. Music can either be a deterrent or a harmonious marriage. The body moves with ease when encouraged and challenged in a knowledgeable, safe atmosphere of like minded people. Nora's style has blossomed into a beautiful, unique, physical, musical, humorous and spiritual teaching style that is addicting. Go to a Nora class and you will never go to a boring teacher again!
Currently, Nora's influences are, Shiva Rea, Lauren Peterson, David Williams, and the sweet Dharma Mittra. |
